In simplest terms, stress, anxiety and depression is how the brain and body respond to any demand. Every type of life change or ongoing circumstance, whether positive or negative, can be stressful. These may include work, school, major life changes, or traumatic events, even if they happened in the past.

Should You Do Something About Your Stress, Anxiety and Depression?

It’s important to understand that if you’re experiencing stress, anxiety or depression, there’s nothing inherently wrong with you. Stress, anxiety or depression are a natural reaction in which the body releases certain chemicals. These reactions are meant to make you ready to deal with everyday life, what is important is how YOU react to these reactions.

In a balanced body and with a relaxed mind, those chemicals return quickly to normal following the event, and you feel calm again.

But unfortunately, as age-old wisdom attests and modern science confirms, if the stress, anxiety and depression aren’t correctly dealt with, they can affect your health. With chronic stress, anxiety or depression , those same life-saving responses in your body can suppress immune, digestive, sleep, and reproductive systems, which may cause them to stop working normally. Stress can even produce heart disease.
